Top 10 Invitations

It’s finally here, my top favorite wedding invitations from the last 10 years! This post also brings our “favorites from the last 10 years” series to a close, but have no fear, a very special and exciting announcement is coming to the blog next week so stay tuned! I’ll tell ya, it was hard to narrow my favorite invitations down to 10. There have been so many wonderful and innovative invitations over the years, but these top 10 stand out as my favorite. In no particular order, here we go…

FavoriteWeddingInvitations

No. 1 SORBET COLORED BABY SHOWER INVITATION

It should come as no surprise that the invitation I designed for my daughter’s baby shower ranks high on my list of favorites. Complete with a custom made envelope, laser cut details and pocket on the back and gold edge painting, this invitation had all the bells and whistles. One of my favorite parts was the muted front with pretty font details, then once you flip the invitation over you get a huge pop of color that offsets the muted front. See more of this suite here.

No. 2 OLD HOLLYWOOD GLAM WEDDING INVITATION

Ah, an oldie but a goody! This is from some of my first years in business. Sari and Andy were getting married at the El Rey theatre in downtown Los Angeles, so their wedding took on an old Hollywood vibe. Being this was one of my first projects with the “old Hollywood” style I was over the MOON to design this piece. I designed a black satin pocket folder with feathers at the top of the tri-fold. Inside, design elements from the El Rey theater were included and Swarovski crystals in red added little pops of color. Such a fun piece! See more of it here, and check our Sari and Andy’s wedding here and here.

No. 3 STAINED GLASS LASER CUT SAVE THE DATE

This one was such a fun piece to work on! It’s one of those where I had an idea and wanted to produce it. I love the mid century modern style stained glass, and wanted to incorporate that into a design. Thus this save the date was born. It uses a laser cut sleeve to show peeks of the stained glass, and then once the save the date card is pulled out the whole design of the stained glass pattern shows. I love how the black makes it look like the lead between each piece of glass! See more of this piece here.

No. 4 BLUSH, LACE AND LETTERPRESS WEDDING INVITATION

One of our most inquired about suites, and also a personal favorite of mine. Michele and Tim were an amazing couple to design for, and I love the end result of their stationery suite. Lace, laser cutting and letterpress all played a big roll in making this a statement piece and the perfect opener for their big day! Coincidentally, their wedding was in my top 3 favorites from the last 10 years. You can see the full celebration here, and more of their suite here.

No. 5 SURPRISE BIRTHDAY PARTY INVITATION

This invitation will ALWAYS be a favorite of mine. I designed this suite for a surprise birthday party I was throwing for my husband. My husband actually saw this suite at one of our friend’s houses before the party. Since our friend works at a high security job he saw the top secret and said to himself, ‘Oh they call him “Agent” that’s cool’. And that was that. I still giggle about it to this day, that I actually fooled him with my invitation! Needless to say he was surprised at his party. See more of this suite here.

No. 6 BOXED WOODEN WEDDING INVITATION

When your dad is involved in the creation of one of your client’s invitations, that suite automatically becomes special. For these, my dad lovingly handmade each one of the wooden frames for this amazing invitation. With a small guest count, and the wedding being a more intimate dinner party than a big celebration, we could go really intricate with this invitation. Delivered in a box on a bed of fur, this invitation perfectly set the tone for a fun “outside-the-box” new year’s eve wedding celebration. See more of this suite here.

No. 7 GOLDEN VINTAGE GLAM WEDDING INVITATION

While this invitation was quite intricate to assemble, I LOVE the end result. Designed for a Hollywood Glam style wedding taking place in Boston, this invitation incorporates amazing gold paper, foil stamping and a little bling with Swarovski crystals. Another very popular invitation from our website and definitely a favorite of mine from the past 10 years. See more of this suite here.

No. 8 VINTAGE DECO WEDDING INVITATION

I absolutely loved working on this suite. Sarah, the bride, had such a fun style and was a blast to design for. She wanted a 1920’s vibe, but didn’t want guests to think they had to show up wearing derby hats and flapper gowns. I took the ball and ran with this one and the end result was a showstopping laser cut and foil stamped invitation with plenty of vintage charm. See more of this suite here.

No. 9 WOODEN BOOK WEDDING INVITATION

This piece was designed for a photo shoot which took place in the Riviera Maya, Mexico. The inspiration was couture glamour combining natural elements from the surroundings of the Riviera Maya. I pulled out all the stops for this one, creating a book invitation bound with hemp cord and wooden covers, delivered in a handmade wooden zebra print box. This invitation, since there is only one, is kept at my parent’s house in their glass china cabinet. My mom asked one day if she could keep it there. Apparently it’s their favorite too? See more of this suite here.

No. 10 MOULIN ROUGE INSPIRED INVITATION

moulin-rouge-paris-style-wedding-invitation

And last but certainly not least. This was one of the very first invitations I ever designed. I loved the Mounlin Rouge style, and wanted to design a fun suite that incorporated the Moulin Rouge look. The end result was a deep red dupioni silk folio with hand strung black beads on either side of the folder. Delivered in a box on a bed of black feathers. I LOVED this suite and still do. It’s different, fun, and taught me invitation design can also take some engineering to get the 2 dimensional design in your head into a 3 dimensional object!

Whew, what a fun 10 years it’s been! We’ve had the privilege of designing some fun and innovative invitations. What’s been your favorite suite??

I’m excited to see where the next 10 years take Zenadia Design and remember to stay tuned for a special announcement next week!
