Romantic Beach Wedding Invitation

Ah, the beach. Romantic, relaxing and beautiful. Listen to the waves, smell the salt air and feel the warm sun. Beach weddings can be one of two things: beautiful and serene, or tacky and cliche. After speaking with Katrina and Brian about their wedding theme and style, I knew their beach celebration was going to be a beautiful affair with lots of love and wonderful details. Katrina had chosen a color palette of soft blue, mint green, peach and a muted blush for her wedding…

The wedding was to be a weekend long event, and many guests were going to be traveling in from out of town so a lot of information was going to have to be conveyed in the invitation package. I set to work creating two different ways to present this information; the first way being a classic pocket folder and the second, my favorite for presenting a lot of info, the book invitation. Katrina and Brian chose to go the book route, and here’s what the final product looked like!

I love putting little phrases on some of the pages that coordinate with the theme or style. I thought this one opposite the invitation fit this couple perfectly.

Katrina and Brian were getting married at the beach, however their reception was to take place at a winery in the Malibu hills. On the first page of the invitation book, I put the phrase “A weekend of wine, love and sunshine”, which I thought fit the theme of the weekend perfectly!

Katrina’s family has a beautiful old boathouse that a second reception would be taking place at. This information also needed to be included in the book so on that particular page we drew a custom pen and ink of the boathouse which turned out beautifully!

One of my favorite pieces to design was the rehearsal beach day invitation. Instead of a typical rehearsal dinner, Katrina and Brian opted for a fun and relaxing beach day with their wedding party and family. This invitation was inspired by vintage surf posters and I love the end result!

Katrina and Brian’s wedding was featured in the Summer issue of Inside Weddings. It was a beautiful celebration filled with love, friends and family!
